There are several award-winning restaurants nearby, often featured in national newspapers and magazines as some of the best Scotland has to offer, but don’t take their word for it come and see for yourself!
In Shieldaig there’s the Coastal Kitchen for pub grub and Nanny’s for a friendly natter, home baked cakes, soup & snacks.
For a fine-dining gastronomic treat the 1887 award-winning Torridon Hotel or the Torridon Inn for good pub food, both 15 minutes drive. Torridon Stores and café serve snacks, cakes and sell groceries. Drive further to the hamlet of Diabeg and the much acclaimed Gille Brighde.
For a spectacular drive (50 minutes) over the Bealach – the greatest ascent of any road climb in the UK – and with views over to Skye, the multi-award winning Applecross Inn featured as one of the best UK restaurants in the Times listing. Unpretentious, super-friendly, with a terrace overlooking the Inner Sound and views to Skye, a visit here is a must, as is a visit to the Walled Garden.
In Kishorn (15 minutes) Kishorn Seafood Bar is another award winning restaurant. At the foot of the Bealach pass the Bealach Café & Gallery serve snacks and light meals.
Another unexpected gem is the Whistlestop Café in Kinlochewe (30 minutes) for all-day breakfasts and bistro meals - great as a stop off enroute to Gairloch, Inverewe or Inverness.

Smoked and hot-poached salmon is available in Shieldaig at the Torridon Smokehouse.
