What’s on this Easter Holidays in the Scottish Highlands

This Easter holidays there is plenty to do in the Scottish Northwest Highlands. So, rather than travelling abroad why not consider visiting one of the most beautiful places in the country? Sea Eagle Viewing

When: Tuesdays from 8th April – 1st July 2014, 10am – 12pm

Where: Loch Maree, South Shore

One of the main attractions of the Scottish Highlands is its natural beauty. Many people often comment on what a rare and unusual atmosphere you will find in this area. That is why you should make the most of your visit by taking part in outdoor activities. Luckily this Easter there is plenty to see, and the Sea Eagle Viewing in one special event you won’t want to miss.


This guided walk will take you along the scenic shores of Loch Maree, where you will have the opportunity to spot sea eagles in their natural habitat, along with plenty of other wildlife. The walk will start from the Forestry Commission car park at Slattadale.

Trail Running Course

When: 11th – 13th April 2014,

Where: Go Further Scotland, Gairloch

If you are a keen runner, then this course is ideal for you. Each day will cover something different, including running skills, navigation skills and tackling a long run. The trail you go on will depend on the weather conditions, but you will get the chance to experience varied terrain in a stunning location.


This course will provide you with the skills and confidence you need to go running in wilder areas. This course is a unique way to experience some of the more remote areas the Scottish Highlands have to offer, while learning new skills and keeping you fit.

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt

When: 18th – 21st April 2014, 10am – 4pm

Where: Inverewe Garden & Estate

Why not do something that the whole family can enjoy? If you are travelling with young children, then you will want an activity that will keep them occupied and allow you to enjoy the spectacular vistas that the Scottish Highlands have to offer. Inverewe Gardens is one of Scotland’s most famous historic gardens and botanical attractions and a must see for any nature lover.


These Easter egg hunts will send you on a trail collecting various clues along the way. The clues are then to be used to solve the puzzle, with the winner enjoying a delicious Cadbury treat. This is a fun activity that is sure to keep your children happy and entertained.

Of course, there are plenty of other activities which are available throughout most of the year that you can also take part in this Easter Holidays. There are various interesting tours to choose from, including walking tours and whisky tours. If you are interested in exploring the dramatic history of the Scottish Highlands, then why not visit one of the various castles in the area?
