Travelling to Shieldaig

For such a remote area, travel to this part of Wester Ross is surprisingly easy.

Flights to Inverness, most with a daily service, from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Jersey, Belfast and Dublin as well as Amsterdam and Geneva flying British AirwayseasyJet or Flybe. Car hire at the airport is readily available.

An excellent alternative, if travelling from London, is the overnight Caledonian Sleeper which can be good value if booked in advance on ScotRail and, with their new state-of-the-art carriages, a luxurious way to travel.

Whether travelling to Shieldaig via Inverness on the East coast or Fort William on the beautiful West coast the scenery en-route is a spectacular way to begin a luxury self-catering holiday in the Scottish highlands.
